Anyway, now that that day is over, most of you may have thought Ah! That's the last of mugging I'll be doing for a while. Wrong. That is, if you've decided to go for a driver's license after this. First of all, you need to take your Basic Theory Test. What do you need? Mugging! Here's 10 signs you can use to tell whether you are mugging hard enough to pass. Remember, it's no longer 50% but 90% for a pass!

1. You become the annoying backseat driver whenever you board anyone's car, full of random delightful tidbits of information in the Basic Theory book, and point out any minor mistakes they make.

2.You specially go on rides to revise all the traffic signs and signals.

3.You create a mini LEGO city to practice your driving in with your Hot Wheels cars.

4.You use leftover liquid paper to draw out a fully functional network of roads, lanes, and expressways.

5.You buy batteries and LEDs and make several traffic lights for your junctions.

6.You use an alarm clock to synchronise the timing of your traffic lights.

7.You spend most of your day practicing driving from place to place in your city.

8.You stand at a junction and pose traffic questions to yourself based on real-life scenarios.

9.You can spend an entire day at Mac's, just you and the Basic Theory book.

10.You steal your dad's car and go for a whirl just 'for the practical experience'

Reasons You Should Love Your Laptop

ok, now all uni students have laptops right? and why should you love it to bits and bits and pieces? well, here's why!

1) For those without MP3 players, it is a very much portable MP3 player! And it also doubles up as an MP4 player as well, with and EXTRA BIG screen! Really, there are people who uses it as an MP3 player, I'm not kidding! (coz I'm one of those people. =P)

2) Need to book movie tickets asap to settle a sudden need for a break? Need to quickly settle an argument on whether caffeine does damage to foetuses? Now you can! A laptop allows you to go online as long as there is wifi! And with modern technology, there are so many places with wifi - Macs, Starbucks, uni campus...

3) Of course, all muggers need to study right? But notes are so heavy to lug around! They will break your arm! But with your laptop, you can carry the notes of 46564257394954393 subjects with you all the time! And it won't weigh more than >insert weight of your laptop here<! Now isn't that cool? =D

4) And of course, it is the perfect camoflouge for slacking! Need a break but you are in a study room or any other place with a lot of muggers? Afraid that the other hardworking muggers (especially Supermuggers) will shoot you dirty looks? Well, slack away on your laptop! Play online games! Watch movies! As long as you keep your expression neutral or look like you're in deeeeeeeeeeeeeep thought, no one will suspect anything. =D

5) For the vain muggers, you will never be in need of carrying an extra mirror with you! as long as you have your laptop, you cam blank out the screen and ta-dah! Instant mirror!

6) Nowadays, it rains all the time and the lights may or may not be on, depending on where you are the authorities who control the lights over your head. So dark! How to read you textbook or your notes?! It's ok! Because your laptop is there! Just adjust the brightness of your screen to maximum and use your laptop as a lamp! It's great! And it works! =D

7) This is one of my favourites! IT IS A DRINK AND FOOD WARMER!!! You know your adapter? It's just HOT! =D On a cold day (or in an air con area), put your cooled drink on it and ta-dah! After a while it just warms up! You can even put your water bottle on it! Or maybe a cooled waffle! And if your laptop's ventilation is not that good? Don't hate your laptop for that. You can put it next to your laptop instead. =D Simply marvelous!

8) and of course, you can declare your major and indicate your module preference any time, any where, as long as your laptop is with you. well, SOME mugalos didn't do so and had to do it during our mugalo chalet. *grumbles grumbles* thank goodness we had our laptops with us. =P

On a photo. =P I was looking through some exhibits and saw that my unit visited MJC before! So cool! I didn't know! only found out today. Lol. I think it was a few years back. How interesting. ^^

I saw MJC people in NUS

It was any other normal day, yesterday was. I just finished my last paper and took the shuttle bus back to my hall, minding my own business when suddenly, these four people caught my eye. They were also minding their own business, but to me, they stuck out like a sore eye in the huge crowd below the central library in NUS, which is the central forum.

FOUR people, wearing MJC pants and MJC schools shirts! One wore the red meridian leaders shirt, another a PE shirt, the other two had on some kind of other MJC shirts I think. Walking together like that, they were definitely drawing some kind of attention, at least by me.

"I SEE MJC PEOPLE!!" My friend is from VJC so he wasn't as excited as I was.

"Where?"

"THERE!" I pointed my finger against the bus window which I was sitting on and looked on as the four people nonchalently walked across the forum to the road.

The question : What were they doing there?

Maybe... Maybe because they are fevernt readers of mugalomaniac, then see what we wrote about NUS, they decided to go there to mug!! Well, that was one thought that came into my mind.

Or maybe their A levels are over and they want to go NUS to look around but forgot that it was a university and don't need to wear uniform so wore the MJC uniform!

Or perhaps they heard that the food at the deck (arts canteen) is good and decided to go there to eat. Cheap and good food. =)

But whatever it is, seeing MJC people roaming around NUS like that flooded me with memories of MJC! I really miss MJ. >
I remember once, when I sneaked into TPJC's internal drama performanace, they actually included a part about MJC in their script. They said, "Aiyo, who would want to go to MJC? Their uniform light blue colour de. Like teddy bears!"

RAR. Haha. But still, going to MJC is great. Our uniform is fireproof, anyway. (Please do not try to test this out. Our dear ex council vice pres did try to test this and ended up with a hole in his uniform. The uniform's fireprooflity is that under extreme heat it can protect you for a while, NOT under direct fire. But please, do not run into any burning buildings and try to save people. The smog will probably suffocate you, which is how most people get poisoned in big fires. =) )

Anyway, if you have any ideas on why they were there, feel free to comment. ^^

Please note that I have no intention of making MJC hate TPJC people or vice versa. Friendly rivary is always nice. My best friends are from TPJC too. =D

PSLE in Singapore

The PSLE results have just been released! Usually, every year I don't take note of it because I don't have a child and my own PSLE is kind of over since I was P6. Anyway, there is NO escaping it. Singapore is like, a broken record played over and over again during the PSLE results period.

98.7FM : And the top scorer this year comes from...
98.0FM : ... Nanyang girls school...
95.0FM : ...Top malay scholar and indian scholar are...
Me : MUSIC! Rar. (switches to chinese channel)
93.3 : zui gao zhuang yuan...
Me : -.-"

And then I reach my destination. Which was chinese swimming club, by the way. I wanted to go for a swim. So I went into the changing room and I heard these two ladies.

Lady A : You know, my son's PSLE results not very good, cannot enter this secondary school.
Lady B : Huh.... then you got try DSA or not?
A : The school say must at least 240 then can appeal so I appeal lor... lucky can at least get 240.
B : wa... you good lor... your son not bad ah.
A : Thank you... hahaha. Also not say very good lah...

Ok. By now I think I sort of get the point. PSLE results, Singapore, out. Ok to whoever the one is that is trying to pass me this subconscious message. Don't get the point but, thanks. Now I know that results are out. So I wanted to keep my stuff, and then my phone rang.

Me : Hello Mum?
Mum: Hey! You know PSLE results are just out?
Me : (bangs head against locker)

The story here has no intention of making fun of any sort of race, culture, religion, age, relationship, skin colour, weight, height, eye colour, hair type, country clubs, or any other thing that you can think of. This is for the sake of pure entertainment and information that PSLE RESULTS ARE OUT. And the author feels that an array of experiences that keeps telling her that PSLE RESULTS ARE OUT should be shared with the mugalomaniac world or the unexplained coincidences will be for nil. So, if you don't get that PSLE RESULTS ARE OUT, well, PSLE RESULTS ARE OUT. SO there.

Oh my. It's the super tensed up exam period now in NUS and it's

Kind of scary.

Staying in hall, I have no qualms about agreeing to meet up at 8pm to study at the central library study benches, cause I can easily go back to my room to sleep at night. But then, I realized something.

The central library remains open for those who fervently want to swallow all their lecture notes and extra readings. The closing time is 7.45AM in the morning and the opening time is 8AM, 15 minutes! And the library remains active throughout the entire night!!

Since the library has no space for us ( sad people ) , we decided to stay outside it to do our work. Midnight came and went and we decided that we're hungry. And guess what! Mac, just a walkable distance away, is still open!

Wow.

Back in MJ I really thought mugging till school chases people out was bad, but here, well... if you can't beat them, just let them be I guess.

SO, for those who enjoy the intimidating stress of being outstudied by everyone else, come on over to NUS. And see how many muggers can concentrate in one location. =)

Guide to "Chillax... On Campus..."

ok, i know this is all about mugging here, but hey! everyone needs to chill and relax sometime right? not everyone is a super mugger and some people just NEED that break, especially since it's the exam season! of course, some of these can be done ANYWHERE, so have fun picking what you wana do!

after that list of exercises, here's the guide to relaxing on campus... so here's a list of things you can do to just take a break from your books and just chill...

1) Drink from the milo van!
yes! EVERYTIME the milo van comes, people crowd around and get a drink of the delicious drink. it's not uncommon to see people (like yours truly), queueing up again and again and again for the drink. 3 cups! 5 cups! 8 cups! they will then sigh, "oh! drink until full le... can't eat lunch........." and it is also not uncommon to see people (once again, like yours truly), filling up 3 to 4 cups and tapaoing it back to their haunts for the people who are so busy mugging, they can't go down to get the milo themselves.

2) Dance on the benches!
you've mugged late into the night. you feel bored, stiff and tired. unlike the super muggers around you, you are unable to mug any more, but you have to continue! you have an innate need to continue! walking around won't help. it will just make you even more depressed. so how? DANCE ON THE BENCHES! jump on it! hop around! skip on one leg on it! jump from bench to bench! leap and fly and soar on the benches! just be careful not to disturb the super muggers. they may you their >insert super powers< to fry the shit out of you. =S

3) Play with LEGO!
you have one powerpoint. you have five laptops on the table. they all need that one powerpoint. so just for the sake of a need and the sake of relaxing, whip out two mutliplugs, and start assembly! *plug plug plug plug* get that perfect combi! get that perfect score! *plugplugplugplugplug!* TADAH!!! plug in to the powerpoint. "Power ON!" study.

4) Sleep at the Central Library!
you've been studying the whole night~! *groans* and unlike super muggers, you do not seem to be able to survive on mugging alone! so now what? skip over to the central library! enjoy the air con... close yor eyes.... let the soft hum of activity around you lull you to sleeeeeeeeeeep....... just remember to wake up on time for your lecture.

Type of Muggers

Non-Muggers

OK, these are the people who doesn't mug. At all. They go around, have fun, enjoy life. They look down on all classes of muggers, labelling us all no-lifers, but hey! The rest of us will have a rather nice life in future. At least, that's the norm. If there are a few who doesn't (touch wood!), don't blame it on us!

Normal Muggers

These people don't mug all the time. In fact, they call themselves slack! They are the general population. They mug when there are tests. They mug when exams are near. They do their assignments (most of the time) and they actually have a life. They watch movies and go out and have fun. BUT they still study. See? That's you and me!

Hardcore Muggers

Okay, these people are not as creepy as the Super Muggers, but they are still rather intimidating. They eat, drink and breathe as normal people too, albeit skipping some meals. You will still see them with books on hand all the time, but you will at least you will hear them say, "So should i go home now? or should I stay and study?" At least they contemplate going home. They are just hardcore, not insane.

Super Muggers

Super muggers are just people who mug like they breathe. they mug standing up, they mug sitting down. They mug in transit, they mug upside-down. They mug as though tomorrow does not exist to mug. They are the sort you see in school EVERYDAY in the same place, same position, maybe even in the same clothes! (Do they ever need to bathe and eat?!) They have a perpetual stoned face, most probably from the overdose of knowledge forever seeping into their brains. They don't drink water, they drink coffee. They don't eat food. They don't breathe. They eat and breathe their notes. They are the ones who turn slowly towards you with murder in their eyes when you talk to them, coz you are disturbing their mugging time. These are the people who are close to attaining nirvana in the mugging world and are to be respected, even though most people keep clear of them coz they are just so weird. Oh, and they are the hated ones who drag up the means and averages of every module they take. To be honest, they seem like supernatural beings.

Symptoms that You are a Mugaholic

For the people in uni, it's the period of time where mid-term looms over your heads, and for the people in JC, it is either your end of years or *GASP!* the big As! to help everyone out, this is a list of signs and symptoms that you need to look out for so you know when you have to take a break and wont *choychoychoy* burn out *touchwoodtouchwoodtouchwood*.

You wish the seat that you are sitting on while mugging is actually our bed so you can mug once you open your eyes.

You wish that books can be summoned by the snap of you fingers so that when you study in school, you can change subjects at will.

You wish for teleporters in your stairs-filled school, not because you find climbing them a chore, but because they waste precious mugging time.

You wish you do not have to go out at all and can hole up the whole day to mug.

Your seniors start asking you why the heck you are studying so much when you are in Year 1.

When you sit down when it is nice and bright outside to mug and the next thing you know, when you look up, you exclaim, "omg! 0___0 how come the sky is already so dark!"

You are talking to your friend and you make a Freudian slip, saying, "I have to study! I can't take a break! I am in uni to STUDY!!"

You have a dance class and you want to go mugging instead.

You prefer to stay in your hostel room and mug instead of going home over the weekend.

You hug your books to sleep when you have insomnia.

And it actually helps.

You start making a list of symptoms of a mugging-addict and realise almost every single one of those points refer to yourself. (scariiieeeee! =S )

disclaimer!!: this post is more for those who are now in (or is going to) NUS. nothing against other unis, just that if i dont know their geography, and i do not have a true opinion as to whether what i am going to type is true for them (you will later understand the significance of this) and thus, am unwilling to extend to the other unis... unless you tag and say it applies... =D

ok! now that you've got into a uni, you start having something called 'continuous assessment'. that means CONSTANT MUGGING!! (with ref to madeye from harry potter... *coff coff* ok, nvm, REALLY bad joke) and that means sitting down on your bum on a bench for long extended hours of the day. oooohhh..... the torture!! no exercise, sitting down, mugging, eating sleeping... wow! doesnt that mean you will gain weight?

FRET NOT!! for the following "Daily Exercise Guide" will help you lose weight in NO TIME! and you have NO CHOICE as to whether you want to do most of them! =D

Stairs Climbing
yes! in NUS, we have a whole selection of stairways from every location to every other location! study the map of NUS carefully and if you plan your route properly, you will be panting and drenched in perspiration by the time you reach your next tutorial/lecture. however, if you plan to do so, remember to bring deoderant along with you. dont want to climb the stairs? HAH!! dream on! you may as well say you dont want to go for tutorials or lectures. wahaha!!

Weight Lifting
ok, now this doesnt apply to EVERYONE, but hey! for those who loves their laptops too much to let it go (there are quite a number of these people, your truly included. =P ), you have to lug them everywhere! just carry them in your arms and ta-dah! that's weight lifting. too light? throw in a few textbooks! not challenging enough? fret not! grip your laptop and books and start lifting your arms up, front, back, one whole round for good measure and ta-dah! toned arms!! just make sure no one sees you do it, or they may just send you for a psychiatric analysis. or you can be the psych department's guinea pig. WAHAHA!! ok, another bad joke. NEXT!

Sprinting
ok, this seems really normal, but try THIS method if you really want your heart to be pumping. first, wait until you are almost late for a lecture that is some bus stops away. stand at a suitable distance from the bus stop that you will board the bus at and wait. ya. wait. then as the end of the target bus passes by you, start sprinting after it and yelling like your life depends on it. =D ok, maybe not the yelling, but i am sure it will help. =)

Endurance Training
*serious, ominous voice* this if for those who are not faint at heart. *switches to instructional voice* when you plan your timetable for your semester, put two, or even THREE lectures back to back! with FOUR or even SIX hours of lectures straight, i am sure you will be going *quotes chris* "must... not... fall...... asleep.... zzzzzzzz" *unquotes chris* (note: that's what he typed on msn, NOT what he did). alright alright, this is not exercise per say, but how can you endure a whole semester-full of exercise if you dont train your endurance? =D

Bus-o-nastics
never, i say, *drops voice into a whisper* never... underestimate the power of a bus. *cues normal voice* yes! dont underestimate these unseeming, groaning, mainly orange buses... you want a good exercise? hop onto one at peak hour! train your arms to their muscular best by either gripping tightly to whatever available handholds are left and with your other arm, grip on to your laptop with a death's grip. come on, no one wana drop a laptop. that's ouchness to the extreme man. after that, tighten your stomach muscles to maintain that balance as the bus goes up, down, round and upside-down (ok, i exaggerated on the last one) around the rollercoaster track-like roads in NUS. if you are lucky, you may even hear the bus driver swear while the bus rolls disturbingly backwards on the slope before it halts to a stop and strain forward! (believe me, i have been in such a bus. =.=)

Obstacle Courses (or foot gymnastics)
now close your eyes and picture this: you just came out from a lecture during lunch hour and you are staaaaaaaarving... you see in your mind's eye, THE canteen. (ok, biasness here, but i'd say the ARTS canteen. =P ) then you open your eyes and OMFGBBQZOMG!!!! the CROWD!!! and this is where it all begins! strap all your things tightly to yourself with your arms and your fingers (arm training!) and start WEAVING! side step, side step, side step, side step, side step, side step, side step... if you do all these dutifully, i am sure you will have burned enough calories to have a good meal. disclaimer: as for the last point, it will also depend on how far you are from the canteen.

Marathons
if you are afraid that you will still not get enough exercise, or you are afraid that you will end up trying to squirm your way out of exercising, try arranging two lectures back to back for one semester, and make sure the lecture theatres are as far from each other as possible. (in NUS, make one in Science and the other in Arts. =] i got such a combi. my luck. ) then for this one semester, you will be FORCED to gallop your way from the first lecture theatre, sprint to catch the bus (if you're lucky~!) squeeze in with 456364557328 other people in the bus, stumble off from the bus and gasp your way to your next lecture hall. of course, all that stress from commuting will no doubt help you lose weight. *sweet smile*

-Ahem- Hello? Anyone there? Hi. I'm me again. Been ages hasn't it. Months actually. Sigh. Truth is all of us have been too tied up with our current lives =[ to think of new material for Mugalo. Apologies have been numerous, excuses and thanks more so. Still, we haven't come up with much.

At the risk of sounding hollow, I (once again) thank everyone for their continued support of Mugalo, both past and present, and hopefully future. This blog has come a long way, and while its glory days may be over, I am still holding out for a flicker of life that will revive it. You will be reassured that all 5 of us still are as close as ever, though this is mainly in spirit as our lives prevent us for seeing each other much. (Sadly)

Well, what compelled me to come out here all of a sudden? As some of you may (or may not) have realised, Mugalomaniac is, or has turned two. Depending on whether you take Oct 1 as the date of conception and Oct 2 as the day of publication for our birthday. Because of this occasion, I guess I do have an obligation to come and say a few words. Happy Birthday Mugalo. Coincidentally, it is also Childrens' Day, and let Mugalomaniac remind us all to hold on to our inner youth, and despite whatever hardships we may face, to enjoy life to its fullest.

For our readers, I went through our old drafts and selected something for you guys as motivation for the coming 'A's. Mug on!

Some of you may be rather upset and still hurting from the prospect at spending almost 200 dollars on your GC, an amount you would rather more happily (and willingly) churn into your PSP/Nintendo DS fund. To ease the pain, here is a list on why your GC is actually better than your PSP or NDS.

Why your GC is better than a PSP:

1)You can actually use the thing with just ONE finger. How complicated can it get? Circle circle square circle? up up down down left right? I don't see any cos cos sin log + + keypresses.

2)The PSP has 2 versions. Fat, and Slim and Lite. Your GC has like...over 10 different versions? TI-81 to TI-89 onwards? Think of the variety.

3)You need to buy $60+ discs to put in your PSP. Do you need anything else to load in your GC?

4)The PSP plays cool and awesome games. SO? The GC can play games too.And they're meant to be freely distributed, so you're not supporting piracy. Which is...good!

5)You can actually play games on your GC in a lecture. Try pulling that stunt with your PSP.

6)When you get bored while studying out, you can switch to games in a few seconds. And look studious. Imagine the dirty looks you'll get if people see you playing your PSP while amongst your mugging materials.

Why your GC is better than your NDS:

1)Who needs to worry about protection of the tender fragile touch screen?

2)You can blow into your GC too. To clear the screen of the dust.

3)BrainAge? Who needs freakin' BrainAge when you're using your GC 5 hours a day?

The #1 reason why your GC is better than your PSP and NDS:
Do you even have the TIME to play with your PSP/NDS?

Not as grand as last year's, but it'll have to do, I guess. Hehs.

A little update on all of us.

Hi there, it's been a long time since this blog was updated eh? It's been a long way since this blog was started almost 2 years ago, and no way are we going to give up on it any time soon. So, right now, the guys are busy serving the nation *coughNScough* while the girls are busy working. In any case, here's a little update on which university the 5 of us are headed to.

So, yeah, probably the girls will continue updating come august and stuff, since that's the period where school starts.

HI EVERYBODY!! ok, firstly, we're so so so so sorry for the lack of new posts man. it's really hard to find inspiration nowadays, especially when our main source of inspiration (our favourite activity! mugging!) is currently missing from our lives. ='( but no worries, we are still here, albeit a lil stoned. =S

anyway, here's a post on *points to title of post*. seriously! we just cant use these excuses anymore when someone asks you out and you really dont like the person, so you dont want to go, or you are just plain lazy. OR there is some big event you wana attend (like the click five concert on the 1st of june...) but just cant get round your hesitation and well, just coz you are too old to use the excuse, "coz my mama dont allow."

1) i have to wake up at 6am the next day for school and i dont wana be late! i mean, the first lecture is GP/Maths/Bio/Hist/Econs/Lit/Chem/GSC/Physics and my love for it is stronger than any word can describe, so i really cant go! i just cant risk!

2) i am just a student and my job is to mug my hardest which does not generate income, so i although i am willing to go out with you, im unable to coz i have not enough money for luxury goods. *grins*

3) i have to study for a test/exam/timed-assignment-which-is-counted-but-not-considered-a-test on the day after that! so i really really cant go. im so so sorry! *innocent look with just the right pinch of worry injected*

4) i have CCA until 8:30pm and i may have another committee meeting after that. and coz there is *states strenuous activity* i will be really sticky and smelly and have to take a bath. and then after picking up a quick bite and after travelling there, it will be like, *states a really late time* and i think i may as well not go. sorry lah! next time if there is an earlier timing i will definitely go ok? (if i dont make up another mugger excuse that is. wakakaka!)

5) according to economic theory, humans are rational beings, so they are able to rank their choices according to which one will give the highest satisfaction. and since acing my A levels is my ultimate goal, i am unable to spare time before the A levels (which is this year, or maybe even next year!) as i am unwilling to trade off time which can be spent trying to get into uni to spend time with a loser like you as you are not even the second best choice according to my ranking. im so so so so sorry man! really! maybe next time lah (or the time after that or the time after that or the time after that............ *ahem* you get the idea.)

or for the not so mugger-inclined:

1) aiyah! dont want lah! getting MC to go there in the day is too troublesome lor!

2) CANNOT!! the event end too late and the next day still got school! if i late for one more day hor, i kena see principle le!

see? no more of such excuses. *SOBS!* and so this is another reason why we miss school so much. we cant make convenient excuses any more!

now isnt that just another lovely reason to love being a mugger?

The truth about the world

In the past, when you're a mugger, people don't call you a mugger. They call you hardworking. Not just average hardworking, but really, REALLY, hardworking. They don't mention the fact that your room is filled with essays, stacked to the ceilings. They don't mention that your dustbins only contains pens and is in fact, overflowing. They don't mention that the fire that burnt down your neighbor's house, and your neighbor's neighbor's house, was started by the candle you toppled during midnight after being too excited by your answer to the calculus question, setting fire to the essay tower. They don't mention all that. They completely and thoroughly censor those facts and keep to their story, you're hardworking.

Not a mugger, that is oh-so made fun of in high school. In the past, when you are a mugger, you're HARDWORKING.

Then, people started to realize that it was abnormal. Normal teens did not like studying, they liked playing games in fields. They liked making balls go into nets, be it with their hands or legs. They really liked lines, running around, following the endless lines, going in circles just to make sure that their feet finished stepping around the lines. They liked piling on top of each other. Suddenly, studying so much was not a hardworking sign. It was a sign of abnormality, of weirdness. So what do they do now? They make a funny name for it. A mugger.

Mugger! How weird can it get? Why in the world, did anyone, in their right (or left) mind, create a word, from a MUG, that describes a person that studies a lot. It makes no sense. No logical link.

Perhaps a person who studies too long will dehydrate, therefore requiring the assistance of a mug, to continue re hydrating himself and thus being able to continue to quench his knowledge. Nice.

So call them weird. Now people are really getting affected by this seemingly harmless word. Call them a mugger and see their reaction. "NOO. I'm not studying. This? Pffftt. Hahaha. Why would I be studying? This result? Tyco one lah. Won't be so good."

Now people will not want to admit that they are even hardworking. No way near that line. Too dangerous, too much of a reputation to sacrifice if one would admit that they are STUDYING. Gosh.

But then, when so many people refuses to study, the general cohort now becomes more and more slackish, as some would call it. People are playing left right and center, 'not' burning the midnight oil, 'not' bring books home to mug, ops, study. They are SO 'not' hardworking. Then, one person admits,

"Yea, I'm a mugger. So what?"

And then, people see that being a mugger is outstanding, it's different.

See? People don't want to be a mugger just for the mugger thing, people want to be different. The world moves in a cycle, just like fashion, just like the habits and thinking of people. What is here now, was here before.

So now, what we are? What this is?

This is the truth about the world.

Here's an old drafted post back when we were still mugging away for the 'A's and met up everyday at Mac's to study. Our affair with the MacTV bordered on obsession...

The Mcdonald's LCD TV. A thing of beauty. A shiny black box that contains the most whimsical of our thoughts, and scatters them into the night to its brethren. The latest invention in mugging technology. Many a night it has helped preserve the sanity of lonesome muggers, and even that of mugging friends. Humans are social creatures, and can you imagine the isolation one must feel all alone at a Mcdonalds at 3AM in the morning with nary a familiar face in sight? The box provides a refuge for us, our dreams, our hope, our thoughts, and maybe...our souls.

Many a mugger's hand has been stopped plunging a pen into his/her eye by a simple message reply to the mugger's post from another Mcdonalds far, far, away. Human contact. Life.

Indeed, the Mcdonald's LCD TV has provided us with a constant source of entertainment throughout the cold lonely nights, sending the thoughts of muggers singing through the air. It is benevolent. It gives and provides, yet never asks for anything. The only thing it wants...is to be your friend. Unfortunately for somethe intensity of feelings for such an object is so great that it orders on obsession.

Orientation!!!

Guess what Muggers? Tomorrow is the last day of Orientation in Mugland. Don't you wish the fun and games had lasted more? Here's a recap of your typical Mugland Orientation. On your first day you have your CSI with someone knocking off someone in school... (The nerve!)

Then on day 2 you got your MMM. Nope, not a Massive Multiplayer Mugging game, but something just as fun. Your Massive Meridian Marathon!

Day 3, things get hot and wet with Wet 'n' Wild!

And...afterward it would be the campfire except that I hear we don't have one this year. Which is just as well because I don't want to burn one of my plastic muggers. =D

10 Signs you miss mugging

Much as it's weird to admit it, some of us out there miss studying. Go ahead. Admit it. Sometimes, stuck at home, don't you wish you had something else to do? With many of the guys in NS and most of everyone working, how many time do you see your friends? I'm lucky, I meet taky everyday because we work in the same area. I still keep in touch with most of Mugalo. Some people are stuck at home, with nothing to do after work. Maybe they turn to mugging for solace. Are you one of them? This is: 10 Signs you miss Mugging.

1. You secretly take out your GC, put in the batteries, give the buttons a few pokes and then guilty put it back where it was. (After taking the batteries out, of course. Don't want anything to happen to your precious GC, do you?)

2. You wake up in the morning and find that you've cradled you GC to sleep, sucking your thumb. (Yecch.)

3. You take out your old notes and flip through them and re-memorise them for old times' sake. (Actually you don't need to memorise. They're still in your head!)

4. You hack into one of your juniors' IVLE account to download assignments to do. Then you hack into your teacher's account to give yourself more work.

5. You actually beg your juniors to give you their homework so you can do it.

6. You specifically take a detour on your way home to pass by your JC. Tears roll down your cheeks as you pass it.

7. You take out your old notes to periodically update your doodles.

8. You go through your old notes and scan all the questions to check if you've copied anything down wrongly and redo the question again. Without referring to your notes.

9. When everyone's asleep, you put on your school uniform again, and admire yourself in the mirror. Sometimes you even pack your schoolbag and walk around your room to recall how it feels like.

10. You wake up early each morning to catch the Majulah Singapura on TV because you can't start your day without it.

SIDE NOTE: First of all, apologies are in order. I know I have promised to update this blog more and I haven't exactly been delivering on that. Sorry. Well, my current work schedule has been shifted up by half an hour so I have more time at home now, so maybe that'll help.

However, the imagination pool seems to have run out of juice and I can't get my creative streak to, well, streak around. I see that there are still 10+ to 30+ hits each day, and I feel pretty bad for the little updates. Just went clicking around, and seen some great reviews also.

It seem people still do discover us from time to time, and it give me great pleasure to see that people have enjoyed our blog and linked us or told their friends about us. So, I'll try not to disappoint. We've missed plenty of good occasions, CNY, New Year, Vday, and the 1st 3 months, but I hope we can get this site up and running like before for the next batch of students. Today, some of us Mugalomaniacs were studying in our beloved Mugland JC when we were forced by the anti-mugger police to leave. (Oh no!) So we trooped down to Cavana and found it the most perfect place for mugging.

It was picture perfect mugging!

It is comfortably air conditioned with quaint Ikea lights...

...and great food!

and it has a great view to boot!

and if you ever break your leg, this place is very handicapped friendly as well!

it is such a lovely place to mug, our friend here just cant stop smiling!

the best thing is, they didnt chase us away for almost six hours! it is the perfect mugging heaven!

Mugland Constitution - Bill of Rights

It's a brand new school year! Sorry for the lack of posts recently but 1 of us is in the Army (Though why the government would want to put such precious receptacles of information in the line of fire is beyond me,) and the other 4 are working now. Plus an obvious lack of tags. I fear that Mugalomaniac's days may be numbered. I see our visits have dropped to about 20+ a day, which makes me feel bad u guys still visit even though we've slowed down. Please tell your juniors about our site. So we can still get more hits. =]

I leave you with a gift. Hopefully it will protect future generations of muggers, whether they remember us or not. This is what we WANT. This is what we DESERVE. These are our RIGHTS. Respect them. I have taken the US Bill of Rights and based ours off them. Hopefully this will help you guys in the future and protect your basic mugging rights.

The Mugland Constitution: Bill of Rights

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Mugging
The Establishment shall make no law respecting an establishment of mugging(schools and such), or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of mugging, or the right of the muggers peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The powers not delegated to the muggers by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the muggers, are reserved to the muggers respectively.

Amendment 8 - Right to Possess Mugging Space
We believe it is the exclusive and inalienable right of all muggers to take possession of any table or chairs or table and chairs they come across anywhere and to use it as mugging space. This space will be covered by Amendments 1, 2, 3, and 5.

Amendment 9 - Right to Demand Mugging Space

This one, was a pretty random comic. It was inspired one day when we'd finish our papers and hung about in school till the evening. Then we saw the examiners carrying our large black bags with our scripts loaded in them. Taky and another friend ran off to the teachers and took a picture with them while the Chief Examiner brought the car around. However he saw us, and remarked that we were very interesting students. We waved goodbye to our papers in the car trunk on their way to the airport.

Hey guys! As a sort of experiment, I've decided to try something new! Well, you see, there's not been a Plastic Muggers post for quite a while now, and the reason being that I either haven't the time to make one, or didn't feel like doing so. (I don't make comics when I don't feel like it...it's not because I'm lazy, but because the end product will simply be crappy. That's one of my personal comic-production rules. Me in comic-making mood=un-crappy comic! ^^)

Anyway, to get to the topic, I isolated myself from the internet for many many days during the 'A's, but my mind kept working. At the end of it all, I had 4 Plastic Muggers ideas. I did all on them in one day, two fairly long, two fairly short, and combining that with 1 draft, there's 5 unpublished comics. So now I'm letting you VOTE as to which comic will be published next! I can't guarantee they'll come out regularly, but you get to determine the order.

I did Singapore to London, Signs of Stress, Somes Things Never Change, Holes in our Heads on Dec 6, and drafted them all. Environmentally Friendly Mugland!

Attention Sec 4 students! The new year is coming in a few months! Still unsure about which JC to pick? Why not Mugland? Here's a reason why:

Do you know that Mugland is one of the most environmentally friendly schools in Singapore? Yes! We take many measures to ensure we save as much resources as possible! Here are a couple of methods we do so. We share them with you in the hope that you may adopt them also.

[Mugalo Note: The following two methods are real and actual authentic methods used by Mugland]

1. Turn on the air-conditioning only when the Lecture Theatre(LT) is opened, and as students are filing in.
We can cut down on a lot of energy by turning on the air conditioning only when the students enter the LT. Who wants to waste money on cooling down a closed room locked up for the past 12 hours or more with nobody inside? Wait till there are students within, then turn it on. Energy saved! Packing 600 plus students into an enclosed area may raise the temperature slightly but the air conditioning will catch up in about half an hour or so. We have received some letters from the Red Cross and human rights groups, but we would like to assure the public that the students are very happy with this plan and have even petitioned for no air conditioning to be used at all during lectures. This proves how environmentally conscious our students are! We believe that rapidly packing over 600 students in a warm enclosed area does not violate their human rights in any way. Some students have raised issues about this, but they have been, uh, silenced, I mean dealt with.

2. Turn on lights only in complete darkness
We turn on the lights only at 7pm, when it gets too dark to see. This is logical, because students can't mug in complete darkness. But in semi-darkness, students can still see right? So we don't turn on the lights yet. Some students complain it is difficult to do their work, but they are missing the point. (pun intended, ha-ha!) As long as the text is visible you can still mug, and only in total darkness do we help them. This, of course applies to our Atrium, a popular mugging spot. In fact, some students have petitioned to dim the lights to save electricity also, as they believe they can mug in dim conditions. They state that even though it is bad for the eyes, and some need to make new spectacles, they do not mind since it is them who are spending over $100 a few months, and saving money for the school. Another example of our environmentally conscious students. In fact, do you know we actually turn on the toilet lights on BEFORE the atrium lights? This is because we don't want the students to slip, fall, and sue us.

As you can see, you can still see the paper against the table, which indicates a state of semi or incomplete darkness, and does NOT warrant the turning on of lights in the Atrium.

Mugland is also considering holding a 24-hours non-stop "live" concert to raise awareness about global warming. All the 42 student-formed bands in the school will be taking part! It will be called Mug24 and the music they play will be transmitted over the school system and amplifiers around the school, along with a non-stop party going on in the hall with lights and food! The school will be open to the public for these 24 hours so the message of stopping global warming will be spread.

Furthermore, next year, Mugland will also be holding a french fry, hotdog, hamburger, and steak eating contest simultaneously to raise awareness for world hunger. Admittance to both events is free, and the aim is to let others know more about these two worthy causes. There may also be a a student-organised moneylight vigil to raise awareness about poverty in other countries. What's a moneylight vigil? Similar to that of candlelight, in this case we will be burning money and staying awake to make a stand against world poverty. Each participant is required to bring 20 $5 notes to take part in the burning.

Singapore Junior College

Anyone heard the news a couple of days ago? They're building a new JC! Its said to be based on the popular and highly successful business model of the Singapore economy. It's goal is also to be one of the top institutions, like Singapore herself is one of the most developed countries. The new JC will encompass many new designs and initiatives, to be further elaborated on...

A Clean and Green Environment
The campus will be constructed on a large plot of land specially set aside for this purpose. Greenery and nature will be a key part of the design, and is also symbolic of Singapore's clean and green nature. Nature will be prominent in this architecture, and the buildings will be pure white, as is the school uniform, to signify purity and a fount of clear knowledge. The grounds will involve sculpted gardens and recreational grounds for students to relax.

Quick and Efficient Transport System
There are paths linking all the buildings together, but the size of the campus also means students will need a quick and effective transport system to get around campus quickly. This resulted in the production of the MST (Mass Student Transit system), a series of underground light trains connecting block to block. This is the first time an educational system has implemented a transport plan of such detail. Operation is contracted to an external contractor, possibly, Super Transport Service (STS). To offset the cost, the students will pay for a trip using their EZ-link card, or buy a on-campus concession card. The price will be determined by the operator and linked to external prices, so a ride from Block Academic Excellence to Block Economic Growth may cost $0.45 or or more.

Alternative Transport
For more well-off students, they may purchase a bicycle from the school. However, only proper school-approved and licensed bicycles are allowed to be ridden on campus. Failure to do so may result in a impound or fine. The school offers a wide variety of 2 wheeled pure white bicycles for transport. This is so approved bicycles can be distinguished. They are sold at market prices, but to prevent possible congestion of the bicycle paths, they will impose a compulsory COE bidding system and bicycle path tax on purchases.

Traffic Management
Some area of schools may experience congestion at certain times, so the management has adapted an ingenious system to regulate human traffic flow. They will be installing EZ-link Deduction Point (EDP) gantries at the entrances to the school hall and canteen. They will be activated at peak hours such at assembly, and recess or lunch breaks. The gantrys deduct $1 from each EZ-link card that passes through it. Students who wish to park at the centeen also have to purchase a season parking ticket.

When interviewed, a school official said:"We hope to reduce the severe bottlenecks and blockages we often see in today's schools, resulting in a great deal of wasted time. This means our students have less time to get back to their lessons and every second wasted is a second we do not push forwards our aggregate supply curve. If that doesn't solve the problem, we'll just keep raising and raising it because we know sooner or later, we'll hit a magic price at which everything will be solved. [smiles] And we hope that by imposing a $1 EDP charge on entering the canteen,students will feel the opportunity of cost of going to a bench to study is more attractive."

High Tech Campus
Everything on campus can be paid for using EZ-link, including toilet paper(which has to be purchased from the toilet attendants at $1 a roll.) Food comes from the finest gourmet chefs, as is the policy for providing the best for its students. Food prices will also include the GST of the current year, to offset costs. Wi-Fi access is available anywhere on campus, and enables students to download information at up to 1GB/s. One minute spent online will cost 20 cents, a small price to pay for downloading information from Wikipedia at 0.00000000001ms. Connections are monitored of course, and any student attempting to download anime will be referred to the Organisation of Destruction and Economic Xtermination of Illegal Anime Downloaders (ODEXIAD). Internet bills and fines are charged to their school fees.

Recreational Facilities
Like any other institution, the school has its own track and field, squash/badminton/basketball/street soccer/netball courts. It has facilities for almost every sport, including a 12 lane bowling alley, and a small lake for watersports, such as wakeboarding and canoeing. The school also has built two Integrated Rooms (IRs) in different areas of the school. They are fully air-conditioned and have facilities for studying, such as soundproof cubicles with tables and chairs for solo or group studying. They are integrated with facilities for relaxation, such as 4 Xbox 360 consoles, 4 PS3 consoles, 4 PCs, 4 iMacs, sofas and a pool table. Consoles and computers of different makes are in separate rooms to prevent disputes between students. However, as students are not encouraged to slack, entry into the room for its students includes a $2 levy, which is not applied to students from other institutions.

Innovative and Revolutionary ideas.
The school is also installing televisions tuned to Channel NewsAsia to help students with their General Paper, and there will be a large digital screen on the canteen showing the day, date, time, temperature, humidity, no. of days to the next schoolwide test, no. of days to the A levels, names of failures, and the current GST rate, so that students can keep updated at all times, and the stallholders can change their prices accordingly.

Another simple but highly effective scheme is the CMF, or Central Mark Fund. For every major schoolwide test, 20% of each student's score will go to the CMF. This means that if they score 60, their recorded score will be 48. This will help to encourage students to do better as they know success is not easy. Students may withdraw marks from the CMF, but the eligibility criteria are they they must be doing acceptably in school at first(originally at 55 marks, this was deemed too low a standard, and raised to 62, then 65 marks), and have one of two tests which scores need improvement. Students which do badly are not eligible as they do not have enough merit.

Another scheme is known as the Compulsory Annuity Mark Scheme(CAMS). Students must donate a total of 10 marks from each schoolwide test to CAMS. CAMS is unique in that only in the second year can it be used. It is a safety net in case students run out of CMF marks. Students who fail to make it to the second year will have their marks donated to those who do. These marks can be used to boost their scores also.

The arrival of this brand new institution is bound to make waves in the local education scene when it debuts here in a few years time. Keep an eye out for success, it just may be around the corner...

Some of you probably have heard of it on the tagboard. It's out a little late for the A's, (a little...=P) but I'm sure you'll all find it useful next year, J1s. Anyway, backstory is, I was trying to sleep one night, and them the spark of an idea blossomed. (They always do that...when I'm trying to sleep. =D) So I grabbed a pen, which was very easy since the table I mug on is next to my bed, some paper from the same table, and scribbled everything down. (Don't you think its creepy everything you use to mug is within arm's reach from your bed since you mug next to it? =X)

Brushed it up a little, and on 31 Oct, I got together with the rest of the Mugalomaniac, and we sent this out on a campaign to everyone we could in a bid to see if we would get it back. Sadly, we didn't. But it was worth a try. Either way, this is what keeps our spirits high through this difficult period. Good luck to all muggers out there on the final stretch! I am not much of an artist. By my own admission, what I drew in secondary school sucked. But, I like my doodles. For some reason they always turn out okay, and people have said my doodles are pretty amusing. =] This may not the the closest thing to "art" as it is most commonly recognised, but it proabably is the best I can "draw". =D

I was doodling the other day at Macs, contemplating the problems many ODMC(Not ODAC, but OutDoor Mugging Club) muggers face, the problem of eviction from the premises. The numerous proud and pompous adults who scorn and scoff at us, thinking it is very easy to survive in the education system. They huff and puff and complain about us, and look at us disdainfully. Yet, some of them bring their own children down to the same fast food outlet to make them do their work too.

I think of what I want to do to them, and then I come across a solution. Why not create a NEW superhero? A dark hero, one who protects the rights of muggers, but through unorthodox means. One who can do whatever he wants to them because it is all on paper. One who has no limits. One who is...Kyrios, Dark angel of the Muggers.

He is an angel by the way he champions the rights of muggers, but yet the means he uses are questionable. He is the new antihero(?) He has a dark past himself, a conflicted and tortured soul pushed to the edge, whereupon he discovers his true potential.

ABCs for little muggers!

Do you want to jump on the Uniquely Singaporean bandwagon of turning your child into a little scholar prodigy at the mature age of 3 years old? Or does your child have some spare time in between his/her school, tuition, CCA, piano, violin, swimming, phonetics and quantum physics lessons? We have the answer for you!

Little Mugger Flash Cards! Yes! The newly designed Little Mugger Flash Cards are a pack of 26 cards containing each letter of the the alphabet from A-Z! Each card has the capitalised and lower case form of each letter on one side, and a picture of a JC topic that begins with the letter on the other side with a short definition and description! Your child may not know what subject he/she will be taking in the future, so we have thoughtfully included a few terms from each possible subject. They are designed so that your child will learn about the alphabet as well as something new from JC.

Eg. R is for Ribulose Bisphosphate Carboxylase Oxygenase or RuBisCo!
Rubisco is an enzyme involved in the Calvin cycle of photosynthesis.

As we all know, the sudden proliferation of laptops of all shapes, sizes, colours and shades can only mean one thing. PEE-DUB-EUU! That's right! PW! There's like a minimum or one or two laptops everywhere you tread in school, and it makes some of us J2s want to say HAHA!...PW!!! Lol. It is rather amusing when you think of it. If you're J2 I mean. =P Don't worry J1s, your turn will come soon. We know quite a lot of you dislike(or vehemently hate with a burning vengeance) the subject. I, for one, particularly liked it. Either I'm weird or maybe I'm just not suited for JC life. Lol. Because I never found any aspect of PW irritating, annoying, tiring, or a pain in the gluteus maximus before. I pratically enjoyed it to the max. Or maybe my group was just great. So I have no hard feelings towards PW.

But in the end, when they ask you if you think you have learned anything from PW or if you would encourage it for the next generation, I'm guessing that many of you will say yes. Just as we did. But I wasn't lying. The rest...wanted the next batch to suffer the way we did, and thus continues the cycle of misery. Such sadness in the world. I'm afraid we won't be making a movie out of this, because stop-motion animation would totally kill us, and even a series of pictures like in the trailer itself would be amazingly tedious. Still, this came as an idea to me, and since I work best fueled on ideas, I ran with it immediately. Threw everything together in a coupla hours, slept at 2AM on Mon. Or rather, 2AM on Tues morning. [UPDATE]READ AFTER WATCHING[/UPDATE]
This just came to my attention, courtesy of one of our readers, that our storyline is similar to that of The Outsiders novel. And thus begins one of the weirdest coincidences in my life ever. It may be freaky and weird, believe it or not, but I'm serious. I've never read it the book before, but the theme and storyline is similar, including...wait for it, the NAME of the dead guy. It just popped into my my head, that I should use that name, and wonder of wonders, it turns out to be the same name of the dead boy in the book. There is also the same theme of him dying at such a young age, I think, and the similarities are pretty uncanny to say the least. I basically half-read half-skimmed through the article, and it's quite interesting, so you can check it out here:

SAMS

The recent prelims onslaught was devastating enough by itself. Many prevailed and stood strong in the raging wave of questions, but many others were lost in battle to SAMS, Severe Acute Mugging Syndromes.

As a part of mugalomaniac, I have went around taking pictures (with photo consent) of these muggers, and hopefully these pictures can do well to warn those in mugland about this horrifying disease. And, I am sure those in Mugland would see these people around, grinning madly in despair and mugging hard at the study benches.

The first is a mugger who just finished his prelims. Stunned by the Ultimate results, he went crazy and started doing question after question.

As you can see, the muggers have no control over their desire for more questions. This mugger is obviously exhausted but he has gone delirious and hence is unable to stop mugging.

The next one is a mugger with the regret symptom of SAMS. After the paper, he just emoly sat there, thinking about all the mistakes he could have done in the exams, and what he did not do.
Worrying is not useful folks. Please do not succumb to such factors of "I-should-have". Seriously, just remember not to do that for the final paper. Well.. erm.. if you can remember. But STILL! This is bad. ><

The next one is SAMS so highly evolved that the bacteria has managed to fully take over the mugger's mind. What's coming next is highly graphic and please... do NOT view if you had just taken your dinner.

Yesterday Mugalo turned one! =D Sorry about the lack of posts, but we didn't really wanna jam up a whole lotta posts together, and stuck to our rough schedule of Wed and Sun posts. Well, the above must be what many of you may be thinking after your exams. J2s included. Yes, the midyears aren't exactly a cakewalk for the J2s too, so we know how some of you may feel. But still, fight on!

Never resort to self mutilation or cutting to express your dissatisfaction at your results. Instead, work harder, and aim to do better the next time! Remember kids, knives are VERY VERY dangerous things! ^_^

Since you all are probably more acquainted with books, let me explain. Knives are made of metal, usually stainless steel, and often pointy and sharp. If you get cut, nasty red stuff comes out. Now we don't want that do we? So, do NOT attempt to REENACT the above comic in ANY way, shape or form, no matter how much of a Die Hard fan of Mugalo you are, you are NOT Bruce Willis. =]

Side note: I accidentally cut myself while doing this. =.= I noticed glue stuck on the blade and decided to wipe it off. Using my bare finger. I was running it down the blade and I actually felt it cutting into me and quickly withdrew my finger. So I finally cut myself with a penknife, except it was not when I was emo. Darn.

It looked like I had just cut through the surface of the skin only, but a few minutes later it started bleeding, which probably meant I had split some flesh there too. So remember, knives are dangerous things! Mugalomaniac will not be held responsible for any injuries or loss of life suffered from anyone attempt to recreate or reenact this comic.

Today, the Mugalomaniacs present a special preview of things to come... the TI-Touch, a revolutionary step forward into what the future of education might look like. The following extract is courtesy of Texas Instruments.

Inspired by the iPhone and the iPod Touch, we created what is possibly the smallest and slimmest graphic calculator ever. How? Because the TI-Touch is just a screen. Uniting the buttons and display into one simple and easy to use touchscreen display, we have compressed the once large and unwieldy graphic calculator of the past into a sleek pocket-sized, easily portable tool.

On our current system, you can only see different lists from different sections one at a time, which combined with the intuitive touchscreen provides a user-friendly interface that most users will get used to immediately. Graphs are displayed in a widescreen landscape format, while the menu buttons are in portrait format. There are no major changes to the system, and most users can quickly slip back into the same pattern of button presses they used on older models, needing little time to adapt to the new design.

The TI-Touch includes Wi-Fi capability, allowing you to go on-line to retrieve notes or visit your school website. The TI-Touch is locked to the Mug1 provider only, as part of our contract. The TI-Touch also has an option that automatically checks your school's website every few minutes anywhere you are for new updates or notes. Auto-roaming is a pre-enabled capability in your TI-Touch, so you can download new Chemistry notes while on holiday in Genting. Wi-Fi is not free in some places, so data charges may be incurred. These will be charged to your Mug1 account. Bluetooth is also included for students to trade notes and share ideas.

The TI-Touch has a revamped easy-to-use and simple menu screen that allows you to select from a variety of specialised functions, such as integration, matrices, and graphing. It has a high definition full colour widescreen format(when graphing) and graphs are finely detailed in a black on white background. No more finicky manipulation of blocky pixels, the lines are now smooth and much more pleasing and easy to work with.

We've included a simple one touch memory clear button, a step up from the previous TI-84 Plus Limited Edition: Meridian. We've also included a 4 digit code to enter when resetting the memory, a reflection of the new high-tech and luxurious feel of the TI-Touch, in addition to its larger memory. The TI-Touch also remembers basic details such as the name and class of its owner (lockable with a 4 digit pass code) to prevent theft and facilitate easy return in case of loss.

The bottom of the TI-Touch also includes a small text recognition scanner, like the highly popular iMug. Simply run the TI-Touch across your notes, and save the pages to the in-calculator memory (Available in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB sizes). The TI-Touch is fully rechargeable, and this means no more troublesome switching of batteries and suddenly lack of power during exams. Simply charge your TI-Touch for 2 hours before the exam and you're ready to go. A quick-charger is also available at US$50 and recharges your calculator for 1 hour of non-stop usage in 15 minutes, handy for emergencies. The TI-Touch is tamper-proof and has a installed hardware destruction mechanism to prevent tampering. Any attempt to open the TI-Touch will result in permanent hard disk damage and void the warranty. This is to prevent any modification of the note storage function.

The TI-Touch contains a small antenna that receives a specific wavelength from an emitter. This will be made available to all institutions or educational organisations in bulk at a low price. They can have a range of 50 feet or 500 feet and their purpose is to broadcast a signal to jam the note storage function in all TI-Touches within range to prevent cheating. Carl Babbage, JET - Texas Instruments (TI), a leading manufacturer of graphic calculators and at the forefront in graphing technology, has announced it is releasing a new edition of the highly popular Ti-84 plus model. Released in the spring of 2004, the Ti-84 plus has been adopted by the Singaporean education system as the graphing calculator of choice after the recent change in syllabus. Their tertiary education syllabus was modified in 2006 with the first batch of pioneer students. One of the modifications was the inclusion of the use of the graphing calculator, originally seen in universities only. This calculator has been universally adopted by all of their junior colleges, and is the most commonly used model by students.

TI posted record sales of the Ti-84 plus Silver Edition in the Asian market in the first quarter of 2007, with thousands of models snapped up by the incoming batch of students. It is believed this demand may have contributed to the re-release of the Ti-84 plus. As announced earlier, the new TI-84 plus will be based off the TI-84 plus Silver's workings, but will be blue instead. This is due to a new initiative between the company and one of its customers, surely one of the more innovative partnerships we have seen in the educational technology sector. We speak to Wilhelm Schickard, product manager for TI.

JET: So what made you decide to release the Ti-84 plus again as a new edition?

WS: Well, we were quite surprised by the high demand for TI-84s in the Singapore market, and we think that this is a way of giving back to the loyal customers who supported us so well.

JET: But aren't the students buying the calculators because they have to?

WS: Well, not really. You see, just a few months ago, Meridian Junior College in Singapore held a very exciting competition titled "Fastest Fingers First", which involved testing students' familiarity with the calculator. Our local representative was invited as a guest, and we were subsequently informed that the competition was very well received by the student population. You could see everyone pressing their TIs frantically! [laughs] This is why I believe we in our way can also thank them for their support of our technology.

JET: So is there anything new with about the new calculators? What have you done to make them different?

WS: The new calculators are based off the TI-84 plus Silver, and we've redone the full memory clear button into a simple 3-press step, so it is simpler to activate for students, and they will not risk pressing it accidentally. Also, in honour of Meridian and their interesting competition, we've released it with the name Ti-84 plus Limited Edition:Meridian! We've redone the whole cover into light blue, the colour of their school, and the startup screen even shows the school logo for an instant. The most exciting part is that we've done something we've never done before and added a simple speaker so the calculator plays a short MIDI clip of the school anthem, which can be turned off of course. All this was discussed with the school beforehand, and they've consented to it and given us the go-ahead. In fact, they've also said they're quite honoured to be working with us on this, something which has never been done before. We hope that in the near future, we may be working with other schools on this also. As a trial run, we've released 10 trial models into Singapore for a few lucky Meridians whom the school has chosen. We hope to officially release the model by next year if that's possible, to catch the next batch of incoming students.

JET: I see the future for your new calculator certainly looks quite bright, Mr Schickard. JET wishes you all the best in its success!

"Most of you may have heard of the recent flood of defective goods coming out from China, which appears to have a comparative advantage in producing formaldehyde and lead-based paint. Not cardboard though, that story was a fake. So your char siew paos are safe...for now. But what about something close to us? Something we ALL use. No, not toothpaste (containing antifreeze), that occurred a few months ago. And no, the antifreeze does NOT prevent the "short sharp pain" caused by eating ice cream as seen in certain adverts,I'm afraid. And formaldehyde in pajamas does not keep you snug and preserve your age. What I'm talking about is...lecture notes."

This WAS the intro to this strip. Then I was afraid that it would give away too much, so I decided to not use it to be safe. The original title was "Ahhh! It's from China!" also, but I changed it to become more vague so readers would not know what was coming beforehand, and I wouldn't risk spoiling it for some.

I also messed up the placement of text in frame 2 a little and I'd gone beyond the point of no return (i.e. saving over the original and deleting the actual), which is one of my quirks as an artist(?) lol. It is also a bad habit. Anyway, I had to use numbers to manually draw the reader's attention in order for frame 3 to make sense. and it basically doesn't look nice, so I hope for my sake and you guys, that we won't be seeing any more of this again. =]

Well, it's been more than 6 months, and we think its high time for an update. We think that Macdonalds MIGHT not deserve its 1st position in the list due to its new Mugger-Unfriendly policy that means that we muggers have a chance of being chased out at times. We say MIGHT of course, as YOU readers do still have the option of placing it right back at the tippy-top of the list again. We feel removing it entirely from the list is unfair, since we understand their needs, and they are not entirely impolite. It is merely...a reevaluation of the positions on the list to adapt to current changes in the locations.

We wanted to cut Changi from the list, as it is now also Mugger-Unfriendly as there are "No studying" signs around the the observation deck, thus filling the "Mugger Mecca/Heaven" as I once labelled it in my blog with all sorts of negative energy, and rendering the area devoid of the positive organic flow of synchronised mugger energy that filled the area with peace and calm caused by a large amount of people mugging in a certain area. That place has been besmirched with nothing but emptiness, Singaporean families and tourists. However, my friend finds it possible to mug at the Macdonalds and Burger King (or Delifrance) there, which is why we decided to leave it in to be evaluated.

Complex Numbers

Complex Numbers are imaginary numbers. Before reading this post, you might want to watch Barney to get that old dusty thing people call "imagination" or what muggers call "a useless waste of brain power" fired up. Ready? How's it running? What with all the mugging, I bet it's not been turned on for a while, yeah? They could have at least warned us this was coming. Most of us lost our imagining skills 1 year and 8 months ago. Or 8 months for some. Anyway, down to business.

This is a crash course on imaginary numbers. As I have mentioned, Complex Numbers are imaginary numbers. You have to imagine them. This requires your imagination. Say it with me. EE-MAGH-EE-NAY-SHUN. Good! Now, imagining stuff is ok for kids, but after you age till about...say 17, you start to lose it the more you study. Which is why Complex Numbers are tested.

Now look at the number below. Remember to quickly look back before your brain explodes! Ready? Go! How was it? Scary? Looks vulgar and unnatural right? Do you feel that a fundamental law of reality was just been broken? Does it look like it shouldn't exist? There's a primal sense of the laws of nature being violated. Felt like you were falling into an endless pit through a rift in reality? Don't worry. All you need is IMAGINATION! Tell yourself, I can root a negative number. I can root a negative number. Its ok, I won't get hurt. Look at the number. Remember to stop if you feel any headaches. With practice, you won't get that MY-BRAIN-IS-IMPLODING feeling anymore.

Now look at the picture below. the "a" part is real, dont worry, but the "bi" part is not. Or "b" part.You should see the text "a+bi" both on top and at the bottom of the picture. It takes imagination!

So if you see "a+b" ONLY, it means your imagination isn't strong enough to produce an i on the screen. If you see only one "i", it means your imagination can only handle one imaginary number at one time. You need to train it up more. Try focusing all your energy on the blank spot where the "i" is. Stare at it for a few seconds. It might slowly appear if you try hard enough. If it fades in and out, you're almost there, just practice a little more.

Our advice is to watch Barney. If you think its ridiculous, we think so too! The show, that is. However, it takes real practice and skill to imagine a big fat human-sized purple and green dinosaur with no genitalia whatsoever clomping about onscreen for 30 minutes! But if a 3 year old can do it, so can you!

It's best to train up your imagination early, or else you'll go into the exam hall and screw up all your complex numbers questions. Imagine seeing (5+3i)^2 as (5+3)^2! Next week, we shall be discussing how complex numbers actually caused the creation of the Bermuda Triangle, figure in the evolution of Bigfoot, and find out the link between Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Perfect Competition, and complex numbers.

Harry Potter and the KI Mugger's Rock

Another Harry Potter related post. However I had the idea for this post a long time ago, but only did it now because first my phone went down, and then my computer, and the mid years tied things up a bit. Oh well, it's up now, so enjoy!

NOTE:
Some of you may have noticed the varying transparency of the stone. Well, whenever Harry holds the stone and uses its KI powers, it becomes a little more transparent. When it's not being used however, it turns opaque again. No, really!

Primetime Update! -Plastic's back!

Quick update here! Amid reports that -=[K]=- has gotten his computer back from repairs, he was quoted as "trying to churn out one more Plastic Muggers comic for the fans by this weekend", and he thanks them for "bearing with him during this diffucult period" when the study break has been canceled and so were the Plastic Muggers, even if temporarily.

Stay tuned! And keep watching this space. Not, not this space silly, I meant this blog. You have been mugging too much...

POKEMUG

There's pokemon, the oh-so-cute little pokemons that run around wild or get captured and snug themselves into those expandable pokeballs. These pokemons, in other words, pocket monsters, are delightful to see in season one, ok to see in season two, and as the time goes by the 'monsters' evolve to such a state that one finds pleasure in just looking at pikachu alone.

Now, Mugalomaniac has brought all these one more step further. No longer are they just pokemon. They are now... POKEMUGS!. Pocket MUGGERS.

Here we offer a detailed design of the new elements and attacks.

Physics type - Learning ACDC for so long, it's time to put them to good use in battle.
Basic attacks include - DC current, pendulum attack.
Higher level skills - AC current, pendulum of death, circuit awareness.

DC current - a shocking attack to the enemy, 20 percent chance of causing paralyse.

Pendulum attack - once used, pendulum will strike enemy every alternate turn.

AC current - More efficient than DC current, it will have 40 percent chance of causing paralyse.

Mentrome - Pokemug gives out a ticking sound, making the opponent think that it is a bomb and run away.

Circuit awareness - a circuit board appears, trapping the enemy and shocking them every turn. If enemy is wild, no escape is possible.

Geography type.

Convergent Plate Movement - Summons the forces of the earth to cause a devastating mini earthquake in the area. 70% chance of success, but when hit deals considerable damage

Fusiform lava bomb - muggers causes a volcano to erupt, sending a globe of molten rock(tephra) flying towards its opponent

Pahoehoe Lava flow - traps enemy for a few turns, and deals damage each turn. Because this lava flows slowly, There is only a 70% chance of hitting.

Subduction zone - increases by 10% the chance of Convergent Plate Movement hitting the opponent

Econs type.

Perfect Competition - the pokemug transforms into the opponent, copying its stats and moves.

Monopoly - removes all but one of opponent's moves temporarily. Opponent can only use that move for the next 3 turns

Contractionary Monetary Policy - Increases chances of your opponent missing greatly

Multiplier Process - Pokemug take damage for one turn and multiplies the damage back to opponent according to level of pokemug.

Price Elasticity - Pokemug disappears from screen for one turn, then reappears to deal 2.1x the damage as it is highly elastic. Unfortunately this move might result in your opponent switching pokemugs.

History

Peek to the past - pokemug uses opponent's last move on opponent, dealing twice the amount of damage

Time Shift - Pokemug slows down enemy speed, allowing themselves to use more than one move per turn.

Time Warp - Pokemug uses motion to warp its own features, frightening other pokemugs and giving 10 percent chance confusion.

Book Load - Numerous history essays appear, crushing opponent under a pile of essays. Lasts 1 turn for H1, 2 turns for H2, 4 turns for H3 and forget it if course level.

KI type.

Confusion - need we say more? 10% chance of confusing enemy

Question everything - deals slight damage, 20% chance opponent damages itself

Cogito Ergo Sum - A big doubt sign appears and causes opponent to doubt, missing a turn.

Independent Study - A study appears and causes wild pokemug to be blown away by it. If opponent is not wild, study will cause opponent to have 30 percent chance of doubting and 20 percent chance of hurting itself. (This move can only be used at h3 level)

Chem type.
Toxic - Poisons the enemy. As the pokemug levels up and learns more, this attack grows stronger.

Elimination - Shoots a jet of concentrated sulphuric acid at 180C in an effort to remove their H atoms. Or kill them at least.

Electron gun - similar to Water Gun, this effect shoots a stream of electrons at the opponent. However, unlike water gun, it is not effective against ground type/geog type muggers. It can however cause electric/physics type to become confused.

Bio type.

Razor Page - Shreds pages into small sections and then proceeds to papercut the enemy to
death

Prion missile - similar to the Pin Missile attack in Pokemon, this attack enables the bio type pokemug to shoot hundreds of prions at the enemy. A prion is an infectious PROTEIN that has the ability to turn other proteins into itself, and it cannot be killed. Effectively making it a super strong zombie in their bodies. Deals damage each turn.

Heat shock - A technique usually reserved for bacteria, this attack combines electricity and heat to deal damage to the enemy. 10% chance of a burn, 10% chance of paralysing.

Evolution - After defeating at least one enemy in mugger battle, this attack may be used against that mugger's next pokemug. Pokemug will be deemed able to "survive and reproduce" and evolve. Its stats will go up by 0.4. This effect lasts only for battle against that particular mugger.

Pokemugs have four levels - H1, H2, H3 and course.

New rules : Each trainer can only carry four pokemugs at each time. And one of them must be a contrasting pokemug. For example, if one is holding econs type and history type, after catching a ki type the ki type will automatically be sent to the deposit box.

It is, however, possible to hold more pokemugs. As one reaches a higher level, the trainer may choose to take on another H2 pokemug. This however, requires intense training and experience that no ordinary trainer may have.

Once a trainer loses a battle, they have to see the boss for a special round. This special round will be the chance for the trainer to redeem himself. If he fails this round, one of his H1 pokemug may be taken away, for the trainer is inexperienced enough to train it. However, if the trainer wins, it is possible to continue the game as per normal.

(Of course, most people here would just exit and restart the game. ><) After fighting through the elite As, trainers who win will see their pokemugs, regardless of levels, evolve straight to course! This is co-delivered by -=[K]=- ^^

let's observe three minute's of silence for the deaths of sleep-replenishing-days, hard-core mugging for hours on end and the feelings of mock freedom that was bestowed upon, but harshly and cruelly taken away from the muggers of mugland.

Primetime Update! - Study Break Broken?

It is confirmed. The rumors are true. In a shocking twist of events today, we have discovered the the school is indeed canceling the study breaks here in Mugland. There has been no official announcement as of yet, but the news has leaked out to quite a few students and teachers, This piece of news has been confirmed by a few teachers, we urge you that this is only hearsay as of yet, so please do NOT put 100% trust into it. (Maybe just 90%.)

Simply put, all we have done today is to uncover more evidence that the school might be canceling the study break but there has been no official response or statement on the matter yet. However, the given reason to all who are privy to this tidbit of information is that our cohort's grades are SO bad that it has been the general management's opinion that we should not be left alone to mug at home. In fact, the only reason that is holding us back from making it a 100% confirmation is the lack of any official comment from the management.

Some claim it is a sign of the Apocalypse yet to come, where the normally sanctified and sacred period of study leave has been withdrawn. They also claim another another sign of the End of Days is the fact that our cohort is doing unusually badly compared to previous years. Indeed, it is believed such an event has never occurred till now in recent history.

So far, we have not discovered whether this event has occurred in other schools (since we do not have any correspondents,) despite hearing this has been a monumentally bad year for other cohorts too. Hence we would like to reach out to you guys. If you have any information on similar occurrences, or if you believe that your cohort is not doing well too, also, do feel free to let us know. We simply wish to ascertain if our school is producing anomalous results or not.

Oh and by the way, this is NOT a joke post or anything. We HAVE received information that the school is canceling our study leave, and asked our teacher ourselves. This informations remains most distressing, and this reporter hopes we will pull through it all.

Meet the Potters Session

July 21 will be a momentuous day. Not only is it the day of the release of the long-awaited final instalment of the immensely popular Harry Potter series, it is also MTPS(Meet The Parent Session day here in ~~Mugwarts~~ Mugland. Hence, we launch this commemorative post, to celebrate this Murder The Potter/Murder The Pupil Session.

Disclaimer: I have NOT read any of the supposed spoilers out there, so if by any chance the events portrayed here actually happen, it is merely coincidence. However, you may wish to skip this post until after you finish your book just in case. Also, this post is merely a joke, and no malice or insult to any Harry Potter fan out there is intended. If you think you may feel offended by this, then we encourage you not to read it. JK Rowling owns all copyrights to all the characters within.

[This is my first time writing something like this so please don't kill me. And I haven't reread my HP series, so I apologise for any errors in regard to the actual story. Though I admit to taking some liberties with the story. Like with the vomiting and the dying and all. =\]

"Oh no...I can't believe I got it..." Harry groaned.

"What happened, Harry?" Hermione turned around and spied the letter in his hands.

"But this...they can't! You're Harry Potter for goodness' sake!"

"Hey guys..." Ron entered with a dejected look on his face. He bore a letter that was identical to Harry's in his hands. When he noticed Harry had one one, a look of bewilderment grew on his face. "Harry! You too? Dumbledore..."

"I know...but..." Harry reread the words on the letter again. Thick black ink in a neat cursive, on a sheet of thick cream-coloured paper bearing the Hogwarts letterhead.

"Dear Mr. Potter," it began.

The school recently held its Middle of Year Wizarding Exams, and we are concerned about your progress. Thus, we are hoping to make an appointment with your parents/guardians for a discussion about this matter. The school has already informed your parents/guardians by owl about this.

Your appointment slot with the headmaster will be at 11am tomorrow on the 21st of July.

Thank you for your consideration and we hope to see you punctually.

Harry sighed. "This is not going to be good."

Bright rays of sunlight pierced the darkness as Ron threw open the curtains.

"Time to go, Harry." He had an apprehensive look on his face. Studying the motes of dust floating in the sunbeams, he bit his lip. "Mum's the one who's coming. She's going to kill me. I think even Fred and George never scored this badly before."

"It's ok Ron. Even I'm in it. Considering what we've been through in the past; a three headed dog, an enraged troll, homicidal tree, dementors, dragons, a visit to the headmaster shouldn't be that bad."

"I've never faced dementors or dragons."

"Oh. Er...right. C'mon Ron, lets just get it over with."

"Why I never! He... fooling around... destruction... evil... you-know-who... COPYING HOMEWORK??? Young man... much trouble..."

Whne Ron's mother arrived, she had given Harry a big hug, before dragging Ron by the hand into the headmaster's office. Since then, she had been in there for close to 20 minutes. When they finally appeared, Ron's ears were red with embarassment. Mrs Weasley said goodbye to Harry and hugged him once more before leading Ron off. Her voice could be heard echoing along the corridor.

Harry took a deep breath, and entered Dumbledore's study. The same whimsical gadgets and mysterious devices were still here, whirring and clicking away. Dumbledore looked up from a piece of parchment, and motioned for him to sit. Harry sank into the comfortable recesses of a velvet claw-footed armchair, wishing he could disappear into its plush insides right now.

Dumbledore raised an eyebrow. "Your guardians, Harry?"

Harry shrugged.

"I should have guessed. No matter, this is quite easy to resolve." He drew out his wand and flicked it. With a poof and a puff of white smoke, Vernon and Petunia Dursley were at his desk. Dudley was behind them, a chocolate doughnut stuffed in his mouth. Uncle Vernon's mouth gaped open, and his hand was in front of him, keys in them. He looked like he was trying to unlock an invisible car.

"I called you here to discuss Harry's grades recently so I'm sorry to interrupt what looks like a hastily prepared family trip. Please, sit, sit." Vernon Dursley's mouth opened and closed, and he looked like an astonished goldfish. He dropped heavily into a couch and Petunia sat next to him. Dumbledore spotted Dudley quivering in front of him. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect to bring you along too." There was a white flash, and Dudley disappeared.

"Now. I'm hoping that you will monitor Harry when he goes back for the holidays. His grades have been...rather troubling as of late. Also, he has been involved in several rather troubling incidents since entering Hogwarts. In year one, his tangle with an irate troll cost the school 1000 galleons in damage to the toilets. I have since overlooked this, but he seems to be getting into more troublesome messes.

He got in a fight with a rather large basilisk in year two, which caused extensive damage to the school's foundation, not to mention our reputation in various other skirmishes. This is why I'm asking for a small payment of 3000 pounds to reimburse the school for all the damages, which require professional wizard contractors to rebuild. All this cavorting around and his obsession with defeating evil has probably distracted him from his studies, and caused his grades to slip."

Uncle Vernon turned an ugly shade of purple.

"Oh, and after he killed that basilisk, he and his gang leaked muck, slime, and blood* all over the place. Do you have any idea how hard it is to to get basilisk blood, much less copious amounts of ink out of the authentic Persian rugs? Mr Filch was up to his elbows in soap, and I still had to get three teachers to remove it magically. Surely you can see why..."

BANG!

The door flew open, and a light rain of dust and bits of rock fell from the ceiling. Voldemort stood in the doorway cackling. "Surprise! Avada Kedavrahahahaha!" A jet of bright green light shot out of his wand and stuck Harry, who was taken by surprise. Harry vomited and keeled over on the carpet, a look of surprise on his face.

Dumbledore made a sound of disgust and threw his hands up in the air. "Not again! I just had that dry-cleaned last week! Don't you know how to knock?"

"I don't need to! Now I rule the wizarding world! Haha!"

FLASH. A bright light enveloped the room for a split second. Voldermort vomited and keeled over dead.

"Drat! Not the carpet again!" Dumbledore held his head in his hands and sighed. He poofed Vernon and Petunia back to where they were.

"Minerva! Get Filch in here!"

And thus, you know who died. Lol. No, seriously, no. I wrote this on the afternoon of July 20. I myself have no idea, and I'm not going online till I finish the book...

FAQ: Force?

FAQ: What is force? And how do you calculate it?

Don't mind me, but this Biology student is going to get his hand dirty with some Physics.
*blows dust off my 2-year-old-and-untouched physics knowledge*

I'm going to try to figure out how to calculate it first before I get a definition for it.

From what I can remember, W = Fd, which is Work = Force * Distance.

That means to say, Force = Work / Distance. So, I shall now try to find out what steps I need to find a force.

Step 1: Find some homework first
Step 2: Get a stopwatch. Start the stopwatch and let it run for 15 minutes. At the same time, start doing your homework.
Step 3: At the end of the 15 minutes, recording down the number of pages of homework done in an appropriate table.
Step 4: Repeat and replicate Steps 1 to 3 three times for accurate results.
Step 5: Perform a chi-squared test to check the reliability of the data.
Step 6: Find the rate of pages of homework done per minute (pages/min) by using the following formula:

(Average no. of pages done / 15 minutes)

Step 7: Find an object that you can lift and throw easily (eg. shoebag, books).
Step 8: Throw the object that you have approximately 30.0 metres vertically upwards. Record the time taken for you to reach approximately 30.0 metres.
Step 9: Repeat Step 8 three times and find the average time taken in minutes. Let the average time taken be Ta.
Step 10: Find the number of pages of homework that can be done in Ta minutes by using the following formula:

Rate of pages of homework done per minute (pages/min) * Ta

Step 11: Using the following formula, find the force in number of pages done per unit distance (pages/m):

Pages of homework done / 30m

So, as we can see then, when we do something that requires a force(eg. walking long distances around Orchard to shop), we are actually using up precious homework time.

What's the definition of Force then?

~~The Force is a binding, magical and ubiquitous power that is the object of the Jedi and Sith monastic orders~~(whoops). Force is the potential amount of homework done forgone to pursue something else that is not as productive as mugging.

Basically, it's the mugger's motivation to mug. Ever wondered how teachers say they won't force us to study, but instead we have to force ourselves?

The idea behind complex numbers

"Come class! Let's all imagine the number together."

Oh no. It seems that muggers in mugland are in a situation far worse than thought. Now they have been captured to learn the theory behind complex numbers. Maybe a passerby would wonder, what is so wrong about that?

Complex number, is a number made up by a real number and a imaginary number.
The imaginary number is denoted by i, which is actually squareroot of -1. So it is a number that is imaginary.

Now, complex number is something like 2 + 3i. 2, a real number, plus a imaginary number!

An imaginary number!!

Muggers should have more sense that imaginary numbers are part of the imagination? That somehow, the diagram is drawn to fit the theory of the imaginary numbers? Discarding all the fear I had, I walked towards a mugger who just exited the lecture theatre of illusion.

Me:"Hey! May I know what went on inside?"

Mugger:"I just had the most MIND BOGGLING experience! It rocks! Totally, I mean, I have never even thought there were numbers that were imaginary."

Me: Looks at the awe-struck youth.

Me: "Ok...."

Mugger:(to himself)"Imaginary numbers..."

We have just uncovered that coolness in mugland is seriously warped.

The idea behind complex number? It is a tool used by the evil side of mugland, trying to influence all youths to think about the imaginary and using that, warp their minds about coolness. That's what complex number is.

So let's stand up! Let's fight, mugland! Let's show them that we are clearminded, we KNOW their evil plan!

Plastic Muggers: The Lost Episodes

While doing stuff one day, I suddenly recalled making a Plastic Muggers comic. Looking through the Plastic Muggers section, I couldn't find it. Thus, I set out on an expedition to locate the Lost Comic. I went all the way back to about the time Mugalo was conceived, Oct of last year. Waited for my trusty steed Firefox to load the 136 pictures in that month, and used the Epic Ctrl+F Machete of Pages to chop through the paragraphs. After a few misses, I typed Mugger, and voila! The Lost Comics! I found two of them.

Of course these were my very first comics, so I admit they were not as good compared to the later ones, plus I was experimenting, and putting them in one solid column didn't work, so this is how they turned out. Now, I unveil them here for posterity's sake, The Plastic Mugger Lost Comics!

As they are quite small, I shall post the subs here for those who can't see. Don't expect to laugh though, my first tries weren't fantastic. Lol.

This...isn't interesting unless you know about the context. This was my comment on why the school had to teach us Organic Chem BEFORE the holidays, because during the holidays, well, stuff, happens. The stuff you learn gets tossed out, maybe you replace it with a little fun and games, a little alcohol, and you return to school two months later going wha??? for the first few days or weeks.

Mugger Lingo

Ever feel left out? Alone? Isolated? Think you're not hanging in the "in" crowd? Have no fear! Just because you are not "cool" doesn't mean you can never be! Muggers unite! You can form your own clique, but other might just consider it to be a "study group" even though you insist otherwise. What do you do? Invent your own slang of course! That's a sure way to get noticed, and to ensure membership is exclusive only. Here's some simple slang phrases to get started:

Cool - Can be replaced with endothermic/endergonic
Usage: Did you see how he solved that math question for 3 marks! Endothermic man!

Hot - Can be replaced with exothermic
Usage: (To paraphrase the (in)famous Paris Hilton) That's exothermic.
Note! Sentences have better impact if user has a canis familiaris(chihuahua) in hand.

For something that's difficult - High activation energy
Usage: Wah! This Biology question has a high activation energy.
Note! Converse applies for easy questions.
Usage: Haha! The 'A' levels had such low activation energy.

In fact, you can even use these terms for your relationships!
Your parents - F1 generation
Usage: Hi! This is my F1 generation! My mom here, and my dad!

A friend - Temporary Van Der Waals forces of attraction

Complex Numbers

Complex Numbers is the last topic in the J2 syllabus. And there's a reason why they put it there. You're pushing the fabric of reality as far as it gets already, so its best not to fool around with this one.

Remember when they said you can't root a negative number? All stickmen I drew within a few cm of the question died in a few seconds suffering from insanity.

On a side note, I'm still trying to figure out if this is good or bad...haha.

Well, i'm not running this project but it's by a teacher of a friend of mine and i decided to publicise this teacher's entry because, well, we're nice people. (: don't worry, it's for a charitable cause.

For those of you who have read about my recent trip to Siem Reap, you would have heard my story about how the village children go around without footwear. And you would have heard about how I'd like to start a little project - Project Happy Feet to get a large number of slippers to be shipped over to them.

And so, far and wide, I am making a call to whoever who thinks they can contribute in some way to bring these slippers to the children. For example, if you...

a) Know a slipper manufacturer/supplier who can sponsor or sell cheap slippers
b) Know someone in the cargo company who can fly/ship the slippers over free
c) Would like to donate in some monetary terms
d) Can spread the word round so we have more hands to contribute
e) Think you can lend a hand in any way to Project Happy Feet

Alternative uses for lecture notes

Let's say you have finished your exams. You see the disorganised pile of lecture notes lying about your room, making it look like the college photocopying shop. The karang guni man won't give you much for them either. What do you do? Here are some alternative uses for your notes.

1)Weight Training.
Guys, NS is approaching. It would be a good idea to train up. A stack of lecture notes containing two years of stuff can easily weigh up to almost one kilogramme. Simply bind them with durable duct tape all over, tape a short handle and use as weights. (Math or Chem notes are recommended)

2)Environmental Wallpaper.
Feeling a bit tired of your plain old blue/pink/green/orange/polka dotted/[insert colour of your room] walls? Wallpaper your room with your notes! All you need is glue, and the result will be a spcetacular dizzying black and white effect that awes the eye. Furthermore, if you are the type who highlights your notes, your walls will be spruced up with bursts of yellow/blue/red/green/orange/purple. You can even study before you sleep.

3)Paperweights.
What other way to showcase your originality and environmental friendliness to visitors by using paperweights made of, well, paper! Just be careful not to lose your REAL work in the midst of all that paper.

4)Steps.
For all the -ahem- vertically challenged, how about considering the use of your notes as a step to reach higher things? Whether it be the cookie jar on the top shelf, or even the sink, your notes will provide a handy way up, both academically and literally.

5)Chew toys.
Got an overactive dogs that wear down chew toys faster than food? Your lecture notes are a handy repleacement. simply grab a stack, roll them up, bind with tape, and you have it! A large supply of toys at hand.

6)New Age Aromatheraphy.
Why buy expensive weird sounding aromatheraphy cures when you have 2 years of papers at home? Simply shred your papers up and burn them in a little pot. Guaranteed to lock the information inside your head with 100% freshness. Beware of fires.

7)Inexpensive fly-swatters.
Roll em up, bring em down. Finally you can actually "rub it in" onto Maclaurin's face.

8)Origami frag.
Now the stress is off you, you can engage in a simple relaxing activity like origami. Used lecture notes are easy to rip and manipulate into paper animals.

9)Fuel.
Scientists predict the coming of a second Ice Age. If it ever happens, a supply for lecture notes could be pretty handy living in an igloo in Singapore. If only I could find the enthalpy change of combustion of paper...

Ladies and gentlemen, I have some bad news. As some who follow my blog will know, a few days ago my phone peacefully passed away in the middle of use. I was not too peaceful. I doggedly didn't let it go to heaven so easily. My 6280 dropped out of the network without a peep on the quiet afternoon of June 18th and never woke up. I even sent it to Nokia General Hospital where they told me it required serious invasive surgery as its brain (hard drive) was broken. Phone stroke? The prices were very invasive too. $150 for Open Phone Surgery, no guarantees. No guarantees it might not have a relapse.

(This is all a little long but I'll get to my point soon.)

That phone has given me plenty of problems in the past, one of which is that it was mildly autistic. It couldn't communicate well. It couldn't talk to my com using the cable. So I had to buy a translator(mini SD card adaptor), and remove its memory and plug it straight in every time I had to load stuff in. Then I used Ben's CD to get Vista. Somehow, even the memory card can't be detected. Using my old 1.3 MP digital camera, the memory card didn't work. So the card reader is screwed by Vista probably.

So I can't transfer any pics online. Well, not strictly. If I wanted to go through a long troublesome process that involves another person and another computer. But since my phone is dead, and so is the connection, our only hope is that I get that w610i(with auto focus finally!) I've been eyeing and use a WORKING Phone to PC USB connection. (Not like the stupid 6280...) So just keep your fingers crossed that I get a phone? So this means...that there will be no more Plastic Muggers for a while. Yup. I went through all that to say that the Plastic Muggers will not be here for quite a while. Because I cannot load the pics. Just when I had an interesting idea...

I have a dream. A dream that one day the 4 of us will form a band. We shall call it Volume of Revolution because it sounds cool. We have no idea who will be playing what instruments as of yet. Nevertheless we might need some help getting instruments. Oh, and music lessons. This is because P(someone has formal music training) = 0.50, when E(x) is 4. All kind donators(of instruments and the like) will receive a free signed and autographed copy of our first CD to be released in oh, 2010. Two of us have to do NS...remember? So it might take a while. Our first album will be tentatively titled "dy/dx". Song titles tentatively are:

after the congratulations from -=[K]=-, i have a very sorry message to post to all muggers. although our mugger brains now have proper good food to give it a turbo boost (just why didnt they think of this sooner man), im very sorry to say that the school has installed four televisions... AND IT IS NOT FOR INTELLECTUAL SHOWS!! (nor is it announcements)

they show, at best, channel newsasia, followed by channel U, 8 and 5. what has happened to our mugging culture?! first the... the... that website.. the revamp! then now... now... TV!! in the... the... CANTEEN!! and then... the CHANNELS!!!

*drops in a dead faint*

lol! congrats to all muggerians man! we get tv shows in our canteen! just that our studies how ah.........? lol!

This came in a few hours ago...Sakae Sushi has occupied the last empty stall in MJC! The last stall is no longer empty, but filled with delicious yummy sushi for the elite students to enjoy. Rumor has it that you have to show them a test pape with an 'A' on it to redeem it for a plate of sushi (just kidding!)

Supposedly, its opening tomorrow, so students can look forward to a tasty dish of Japanese cuisine to drown their sorrows in after their next exam paper. Who says MJC is muggerish? We have zomgwtfbbqpwnsauce sakae sushi FTW!!!!!!11

Congrats to all MJC students.
